Our Privacy Principles

Our goal is to help golfers improve through coaching intelligence while collecting and retaining as little personal information as reasonably necessary.

Beta Service

ShotFocusGolf is currently in beta. While we take data protection seriously, the platform is under active development. As a beta service, features and functionality may change as we continue to improve the platform.

Swing Video

When you upload a swing video, the video file and extracted frames are used solely for AI-powered coaching analysis.

Uploaded videos and extracted frames may be temporarily stored during processing and analysis. Once analysis is complete, those files are permanently deleted and are not retained as part of your account history.

We do not maintain a library of your uploaded videos. Only the coaching findings, observations, and structured analysis derived from the video are retained within your account.

This is a core commitment of ShotFocusGolf: we keep coaching intelligence, not your videos.

AI Processing

ShotFocusGolf uses trusted AI service providers to generate coaching analysis and coaching responses. Data shared with AI providers is used solely to provide the requested service and is not used by ShotFocusGolf to train AI models.

OpenAI currently processes certain requests on our behalf. According to OpenAI's API policies, API data is not used to train OpenAI models and may be retained for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring. For more information, see openai.com/privacy.

AI-generated coaching insights are intended to support golf improvement and should not be considered medical, health, or injury advice.

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate ShotFocusGolf. Current providers include Neon (database services), Vercel (application hosting), AWS S3 (temporary video storage), and OpenAI (AI processing). These providers may change over time.

We require service providers to implement appropriate security measures and maintain industry-standard safeguards.

International Data Transfers

ShotFocusGolf is operated from Australia and uses service providers located in the United States. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information receives appropriate protection when transferred internationally.

International Users

By using ShotFocusGolf, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different privacy laws than your country of residence. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information regardless of where it is processed.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable laws, including the right to:

Coach Access

If you choose to connect with a golf coach through ShotFocusGolf, that coach may be granted access to coaching insights, session history, and analysis findings associated with your account.

Coach access is granted only with your authorisation through account settings. You may revoke coach access at any time through account settings.

Coaches do not receive access to deleted video files or raw video content of any kind.

Your Rights

Data Retention

Your information is retained for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, active account data is deleted promptly. Certain encrypted backup copies may remain for a limited period before automatic removal through normal backup retention processes.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These measures include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, authentication safeguards, infrastructure security controls, and regular security reviews.

No system can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@shotfocusgolf.com immediately.

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to affect your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users and applicable authorities where required by law.

No Sale of Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.

Analytics

We may collect limited analytics and diagnostic information to understand product usage, improve performance, maintain service reliability, and identify errors. Where possible, this information is used in aggregated or pseudonymised form. We do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.

Cookies

ShotFocusGolf uses essential cookies required for authentication and security. These cookies help keep you securely logged into your account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

ShotFocusGolf is not intended for users under 16 years of age.

Business Transfers

If ShotFocusGolf undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing event, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy laws and appropriate protections.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via email where reasonably possible. Continued use of ShotFocusGolf following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
